Flathead Manufacturing (MFG) Day and Series of Events 2016

We’d like to invite you to participate in Manufacturing Day and celebrate the breadth and quality of the products made right here in the Flathead Valley. Manufacturing is celebrated here for an entire month, from September 20 to October 20. During this time there will be exclusive facility tours and issue forums with leading businesses and employers in the Flathead.

Manufacturing plays a vital role in our local economy. This sector comprises 29% of Flathead County’s basic industry earnings according to the University of Montana Bureau of Business and Economic Research. The largest component in the sector is the wood products industry, but it also includes manufacturers of computer equipment, energy, communications, food and beverage, machined products, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals.

Flathead Manufacturing Day is for our local students, parents, educators, media, customers, suppliers and entire community. High School students will learn about real career opportunities when touring facilities on September 28th. In an effort to support the workforce for local manufacturing, members of our Manufacturing Alliance have joined together to offer scholarships to students in the manufacturing trades programs and the brewing sciences program at Flathead Valley Community College. Flathead Manufacturing Day is also a time to enjoy a local craft beer, the finest honey yogurt, or a handcrafted spirit. The quality of products made by local craftsmen and craftswomen is truly amazing.

Our special thanks to the leading businesses that have made this all possible:
Gold: Applied Materials, Daily Inter Lake, Defiance Machine, Falkor Defense, Proof Research
Silver: Glacier Precast Concrete
Bronze: F.H. Stoltze Land and Lumber, Weyerhaeuser
